The Coastguard | 200 Years On the 15th January 2022, Britain is set to celebrate the formation of HM Coastguard. An organisation that has helped guard and protect our shores. It’s a service that is well respected and one that has saved countless lives across its 200 year history. This story is inspired by the life of one of our country’s first ever coastguards. He is one of many that dedicated their lives from the very beginning of the coastguards formation and helped lay the foundations for all those that came after. This is Jonathan’s story. A true story from Georgian and Victorian History – Join us and explore the locations he lived, the coastguard stations Jonathan Webb was posted at, The eras he lived through, included the preventative Waterguard. From the days of smuggling, wars with france and saving lives on the open seas – This historical documentary showcases it all.
