Roman Samian Ware Sherd
Circa: 1st-4th Century AD
This small fragment / sherd of Roman pottery (Samian Ware) was found on a site in Essex, England which yields finds from periods of history spanning Palaeolithic – Roman.
This particular find was close to a scattered area of Roman tiles and a brick in a small area of woodland.
The Roman pottery sherd probably is a fragment of bowl due to the shape, there is also intricate decoration on the inside, this particular sherd is the bowl base.
Measurements: 4.2 cm x 2.5 cm
