Neolithic Treasure Hunt | Stone Age Flint Arrows | Hammers | Axes

Join Stephen and Yhana as they aim to understand more about a Neolithic Site in Essex, England. The settlement stretches for about 400 – 410 meters and much of it is buried beneath a wooded nature reserve. The area has never undergone an archaeological survey, but the area yields incredible stone age artefacts including flint arrowheads, hammers, axes and scrapers. The Neolithic site includes an outer ditch and inner ditches. The journey has been a long one and it’s taken Stephen and Yana and few months to fully understand the site (as best they can). For a while they thought the site might be Mesolithic, but on recent discovery of leaf shaped arrowheads and Neolithic Axes they are certain the site dates from 10,000 – 4,500 years ago. Placing the prehistoric site firmly in the late Stone Age, The Neolithic era.
